The Disability & Academic Support team is part of the Student Welfare Directorate, which has expanded over the past twelve months as it looks to further develop and enhance its student support functions. We are a dedicated team with a reputation for seeing the holistic needs of students and are passionate about embedding disability inclusion practices across the University. Our team is highly student-focussed and our students value our proactive approach, knowledge, integrity and the quality that we deliver.

**About the role**

As Academic Support Tutor, you will teach a range of specialist study skills and learning strategies to students with dyslexia/Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs) both one-to-one and in small groups. Working alongside Disability Advisors in the team you will carry out a thorough review of diagnostic assessment reports in order to plan appropriate support, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues across the Student Welfare directorate, the Learning Development Centre, Library Services and the wider University.

**About you**
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.

Level 5 Diploma for Teaching Learners with Dyslexia, Specific Learning Differences and Barriers to Literacy (formerly Level 5 Certificate for Teachers of Learners with Dyslexia/ Specific Learning Difficulties)
- In-depth understanding and experience of working with a diverse student population - ideally within FE or HE, but not essential
- The confidence to tutor and inspire students during their studies, guiding their development and success
- Attention to detail in service delivery, communications and working collaboratively and positively with others.
