Job Description

We are currently looking for a Bioinformatician to join a leading cancer-based research and medical device company based in the Cambridge area. As the Bioinformatician you will be responsible for contributing to the analysis of NGS datasets, and actively contribute to the development of the company's Bioinformatics pipelines.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Bioinformatician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be expected to carry out analysis of study results in collaboration with a biostatistician and design the core algorithm of our diagnostic test product.

2. You will be analysing NGS and methylome data, drawing on from your previous cancer genomics experience.

3. You will use your prior experience of developing diagnostic products to contribute to the company's medical device development.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Bioinformatician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. PhD in Bioinformatics or closely related discipline.

2. Proven industry experience in bioinformatics pipeline development and NGS data analysis.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with python and/or R.
