**How you might spend your days**:

- Building and leading a high functioning biotherapeutic expression and bioanalytical team to support AbCellera UK’s pipeline of therapeutic antibody programs
- Leading the development and integration of a robust suite of analytical assays for antibody and bispecific antibody assessment into the UK site workflow, which might include mass spectrometry, analytical chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, light scattering and related techniques
- Implementing and optimising methodologies to drive high and medium throughput recombinant antibody expression and purification, including molecular biology workflows
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing talent within a growing and dynamic team
- Staying scientifically current, driving innovation, and implementing new technologies and workflows
- Leading the development and implementation of standard operating procedures

**Required qualifications and experience**:

- Demonstrated expertise in detailed analytical characterization of antibodies, bispecific antibodies or other biotherapeutics using analytical chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, light scattering, or related techniques. Experience of mass spectroscopy is a bonus
- Demonstrated expertise in antibody and other protein purification technologies, including affinity, size exclusion and ion exchange chromatographic techniques
- In depth understanding of antibody sequence and structure as well as common modifications, degradation mechanisms, and CQAs
- Experience with antibody stability and developability assessment including both high throughput screening and detailed interrogation of physical and chemical stability risks
- A track record of successful people and team leadership, with a focus on developing talent
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional and global teams
- Experience working within a CMC organization, or familiarity with regulatory issues related to biologics quality would be highly advantageous
- Demonstrated drug discovery project leadership is desirable
- Excellent documentation, organizational and communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
