Residential Care workers Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire Hours: Shifts - Discussed at interviews Salary: £26,440 Duration: Permanent We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Youth Support Worker to join a friendly team at a specialist residential children’s home in Wisbech, supporting young people aged 8-16 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role, based in a well-established company with 35 years of service to Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas What will you be doing?

  • You will deliver emotional support to the young people.
  • You will assist and promote the young people to live more independently.
  • You will provide comfort and companion ship to those in your care.
  • You will contribute to the maintenance of a positive, safe and homely environment.
  • You will undertake observations on those in your care and will document this as necessary in their care plans.
  • You will attend appointments, social visits, and days out with those in your care.
  • To work in partnership with parents, social workers, other agencies, and other professionals linked to the young person’s care plan, to effectively fulfil the responsibility of parenting the young people, ensuring the maintenance of family contact where appropriate.

  • Yearly appraisal with increase to salary – performance based
  • Increase in salary after completion of probation period

Essential:
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • You must be over the age of 24 to apply.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work alternate weekends.
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building skills.
  • Satisfactory references.
