You will manage a wellbeing team and coordinate and deliver wellbeing training sessions and assemblies to students focusing on topics such as stress management, resilience, self-care, and mental health awareness. Acting as a specialist point of contact and liaison for students and staff in relation to external resources, you will oversee and offer guidance, signposting support or referral to external professionals as needed. You will work closely with the college’s safeguarding team, to ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are integrated into mental health and wellbeing activities. We’re looking for someone who holds a relevant recognised professional certification or qualification in mental health counselling or psychotherapy and who has proven substantial experience working in the field of mental health, preferably within an educational setting .Your experience will include effectively assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating support plans for people presenting with concerns as well as facilitating referrals to services such as CAHMS or IAPT as appropriate. You’ll have a full and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of mental health issues affecting young people and adults and be able to provide effective support and guidance. You’ll have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with students and staff and have a highly empathetic and compassionate approach. Experience of planning and facilitating workshops, training sessions and support groups is also essential.
