Key purpose and responsibilities of the role.
This is a senior post with overall responsibility for the increasing the sustainability of Sheffield Carers Centre through; the development and delivery of new income generation streams, maintaining, and further developing partnerships and relationships with stakeholders, and the delivery of high-profile events for carers, key stakeholders, and influencers.

Key responsibilities, outcomes, and principles of the role.

• Develop, access and secure funding from multiple sources and raise a minimum of £350,000 new income per annum.

• Ensure every opportunity to maximise income is taken to allow the further expansion of activities and projects for carers,

• Ensure that carers are at the centre of all activities, in keeping with the mission of Sheffield Carers Centre.

• Ensure that activities, in liaison with Sheffield Carers Centre staff, are delivered in ways that are preventative, personalised, inclusive, and recognize the diversity of carers in Sheffield.

• Working with Sheffield Carers Centre colleagues, maintain the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of all activities, in collaboration with staff, based on an ethos and practice of continual improvement.

• Facilitate the expansion of activities reaching diverse communities across the city, in coordination with Sheffield Carers Centre staff to ensure inclusivity and accessibility. Principal tasks: Income Generation

• Develop and deliver income generation strategy for the Carers Centre including applications for grants, contracts, fund raising, trusts, foundations, delivery of services etc.

• Research and identify prospective donors, corporate supporters and fundraising opportunities that support organisational fundraising and strategic goals and cultivate new potential income opportunities and partnership for the Carers Centre.

• Act as a representative for the Centre, being able to accurately, and persuasively, discuss the work and objectives of Sheffield Carers Centre with prospective contacts, supporters, partners and funders.

• Work with carers, colleagues and the CEO on proposals and applications across a range of income opportunities to achieve agreed postholder income targets across different income streams.

• Sector horizon scanning and maintaining awareness of new developments and fundraising trends.

• Use our CRM database and other system to create and maintain accurate income generation records. Partnerships and External relationships • Develop, nurture and sustain close and productive relationships with external bodies including funders, partners and others.

• Develop positive working relationships with colleagues in statutory sector, voluntary and community sector organisations; identifying and overcoming barriers, and ensuring the Centre reaches all carers from across Sheffield.

• Work with colleagues in the health and care system, including the voluntary and community sector, as well as with Sheffield Carers Centre colleagues, to contribute to, develop, and seek funding for new projects, activities, and services that benefit carers.

• Represent the charity externally, helping to maintain and develop partnerships that will amplify the voices of people with lived experience and increase the engagement of new carers with Sheffield Carers Centre. High Profile Events

• Deliver a series of diverse and high-profile events aiming to enhance our reputation and raise the profile of the Carers Centre with a wide range of stakeholders including Sheffield Carers Centre colleagues, carers, current and potential funders and influencers.

• Ensure all events have clear measurable outcomes relating to the purpose and aims of the role and supporting the mission and principles of the Carers Centre.

• Ensure that all events are self-financing, or a clear cost benefit ratio can be demonstrated.

• Ensure that all public relations, communications, media opportunities are maximised from all events; including the visual images, media release, copy and content for web and social media and collection of stories and case studies where applicable.

• Work with colleagues to maximise event reach to new carers and/ or diverse communities.

• Ensure all events are risk assessed, conform to all health and safety and information governance requirements and are inclusive and accessible to all. Other

Experience
Substantial experience of successful income generation, ideally in a social care, health or voluntary sector setting. E
Substantial experience of the development and delivery of strategies related to income generation within a social care, health or voluntary sector setting. E
Knowledge and experience of identifying and delivering compelling and successful proposals for different income generation channels. E
Experience of understanding and interpreting accounts and financial information for presentation in proposals for supporters. E
Demonstrable relevant experience of successfully delivering work to reach and engage diverse audiences. E
A proven team player with the ability to work across the organisation ensuring that strategies take into account impact on other aspects of the organisation, for example communications, finance, HR, and all opportunities to work with and support colleagues are utilised. E
Research of funding opportunities and relevant background and business impact of consequent proposals D
Effective and successful relationship building and maintenance with partnerships D
Project management and delivery of high-profile events D

Working hours: annualized contract of hours of 50% or 60% FTE.Pension Company Contribution: 6.5%Flexi working policy: mainly home based or networking across Sheffield.Flexibility will be expected.Annual leave: Full-time employees have 24 days for the first 5 years of service, plus 3 days offbetween Christmas and New Year (as the office is closed) plus 8 days bank holidays pro rata.Plus, an additional 5 days’ leave pro rata at 5 years.Health Care Cash Plan: Westfield’s Health Care Cash plan level 2Office space: We occupy a modern, light, and airy City Centre office, that has a spacious staffroom and kitchen.
