As part of their growth strategy, they are expanding operations in the Northampton region, specialising in delivering civil engineering projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, highways, and utilities.

Role Overview:

They are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the overall growth of our operations in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a close-knit, family-led company that values quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with prospective and existing clients to build strong relationships and understand their project requirements.
  • Actively network to identify new business opportunities and develop partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Support the growth of the business in the Northampton region by generating new leads and following up on potential opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including project managers and estimators, to ensure a smooth handover from business development to project delivery.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the company’s services and increase brand awareness.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the market, competitor activities, and industry trends.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting proposals, tenders, and presentations to potential clients.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a business development, sales, or client-facing role, ideally within the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach, with a focus on achieving targets and supporting company growth.
  • Excellent networking skills, with a well-established network in the civil engineering or construction industries being a plus.
  • Good understanding of the civil engineering sector and project lifecycle.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
