United Kingdom MDE Group UK Full time

Contracts Manager, renewable energy - 12 month contract (PAYE/LTD)

£250-400 Contract

Remote with fortnightly travel to London office (travel and accommodation paid)

Commencing late July/early August depending on candidate availability

Are you interested in working across the project lifecycle of utility scale renewable projects for a major investor in renewable energy? This role will support the organisations teams working across development, construction and O&M activities from a contract perspective.

This organisation is investing heavily in renewable energy, particularly wind and solar. With over 20 years of trading and an asset portfolio far into the billions, this represents a unique opportunity to be part of a particularly extraordinary organisation.

Perhaps you are a project manager with an eye for contractual detail and a desire to work on the investment side of projects, or perhaps you are a contractor looking for a new challenge. Reach out to Toby Barbieri at mde-group.com to arrange a call

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Projects Director, assisting in the delivery of UK-based onshore wind and solar projects, with a development pipeline valued at over £150 million per year.
  • Reviewing and managing construction contracts and other legal agreements, under the guidance of legal advisors.
  • Preparing project execution plans, including coordinating inputs from internal departments and external advice.
  • Tracking and reporting on project technical and commercial progress, including health and safety, quality, and risk management, by interpreting contractor and advisor reports. Monitoring schedules and expenditures against budgets, and recommending corrective actions to the Projects Director
  • Keeping stakeholders informed of project status through written and verbal presentations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience working on lease agreements, EPC contracts, and/or O&M in relation to renewables.
  • Ability to schedule and monitor projects using Gantt charts and Excel-based cost forecasting tools.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and legal agreements, such as leases, EPCs, and O&M agreements.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • An analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites across the UK, including overnight stays when necessitating.
