Alongside an ability to lead improvement and innovation, the successful candidate will be passionate, enthusiastic and driven, have previous experience of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing change in and will have the ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work closely with the Divisional Head of Nursing to provide strong clinical leadership, effective management and professional advice to support our teams to deliver high quality care to our young patients and their families throughout the Trust. In addition, the successful candidate will support the delivery of divisional and organisational objectives to support our ambition to be an 'outstanding' care provider as well as ensuring that staff are proud to work for ULHT.

To achieve this, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership ensuring that the Children and Young Peoples division provides high-quality patient care that achieves agreed performance objectives
  • Support the day to day delivery of both emergency and elective pathways, which will include managing sufficient surge capacity during periods of increased demand to ensure safe and appropriate patient placement at all times
  • Identify and implement pathway improvements to optimise efficiency and use of resources
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the child and their family are placed at the centre of decision making
  • Ensure that the nursing workforce is fit for purpose and that plans ensure that it will remain so.
