Lead Nurse for Children and Young People

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking lead nurse to join our senior nursing team to support the delivery of high quality services to the children and young people of Lincolnshire.
Working in collaboration with the Head of Nursing, Matrons and Ward Managers, the successful candidate can expect a warm welcome from a team that are kind, friendly and supportive. We are seeking someone who is an exceptional nurse leader, who has a proven track record in senior nursing roles and a commitment to the highest standards of care and patient experience. Alongside an ability to lead improvement and innovation, the successful candidate will be passionate, enthusiastic and driven, have previous experience of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing change in and will have the ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. To achieve this, the successful candidate will:
- Provide operational and strategic leadership ensuring that the Children and Young Peoples division provides high-quality patient care that achieves agreed performance objectives
- Support the day to day delivery of both emergency and elective pathways, which will include managing sufficient surge capacity during periods of increased demand to ensure safe and appropriate patient placement at all times
- Identify and implement pathway improvements to optimise efficiency and use of resources
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the child and their family are placed at the centre of decision making
- Ensure that the nursing workforce is fit for purpose and that plans ensure that it will remain so.

Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good'. Our rating for caring remained as 'Good'.

- Registered Nurse
- Educated to degree level
- Leadership and Management qualification
- Masters Level Qualification
- Ability to quickly establish effective working relationships, to develop strong team working across the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrates personal credibility and adopts a personal style that encourages others to be open. Creates a culture that encourages creativity and innovation
- Highly developed interpersonal and facilitation skills with ability to gain and maintain credibility, to motivate and engage others and influence and negotiate successful outcomes
- Demonstrate the ability to handle complex or difficult situations with authority and commitment at a senior level
- Demonstrable ability to deliver in a pressurised environment to demanding timescales
- Ability to identify and apply at all levels appropriate and responsive communication mechanisms
- Ability to facilitate change including deployment of service modernisation techniques and change management skills
- Ability to take personal responsibility
- Coaching/mentoring experience/skills
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, e.g. Productive series and has the confidence to make difficult or unpopular decisions and, through example, empower others to do the same
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of clinical and corporate governance and risk management systems and processes
- Highly effective presentation skills and the ability to present well-reasoned and structured argument orally and in writing
- Ability to exercise budgetary control and to manage within agreed resources
- Standard keyboard skills and proficiency in the use of ICT applications to support efficient work activity, including the analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data
- Experience of working in a leadership role within Children and Young People services at matron level or equivalent
- Evidence of delivering significant organisational change projects
- Evidence of leading improvements in patient experience and operational performance
- Must be able to travel between sites
- Must be able to participate in staffing and on call rota's
