An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Assistant in the NNL Measurement and Analysis team. The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of laboratory work to time, cost, quality and safety requirements. In addition, complying with legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures applicable to the role. 
The position will primarily support customer projects by identification of requirements, providing experimental data, data analysis and technical report writing. The successful candidate will be required to work in fumehoods, within an active area laboratory environment providing high quality analysis. This is an important role operating analytical methods in support of a wide range of projects which will require interaction with a range of internal and external customers. The successful candidate should have an HNC/HND in Chemistry (or similar) as a minimum and have experience of working within a laboratory-based environment.
Main Responsibilities for Technical Support Assistant:
Work alongside project/programme managers and customers to ensure that work is delivered to time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
Able to work in a small team or on their own on projects. 
Complies with legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. Carry out work within the laboratory in accordance with laboratory safety procedures and instructions.
Interprets instructions and produces to allow good quality output, safely and to time.
Keep abreast of developments in his/her field.
Essential Criteria for Technical Support Assistant:
Experience of working in chemistry laboratories.
Aptitude for data analysis and problem solving.
A pro-active and flexible approach to delivery in making sure that requirements and expectations are met.
Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
