Join our growing Older Peoples Psychology team in West Yorkshire With significant investment in our psychology offer for Older Peoples Services, we have two new posts available in Calderdale (based at the Laura Mitchell Centre and The Dales in Halifax).
Supported by our established Principal CPs, as well as the wider network of OPS Psychologists across the Trust. Applications welcome from newly qualified or third year trainees. There is an opportunity for preceptorship posts to join the service at band 7 and undertake a development plan with the aim of developing the required competencies for an 8a post. CMHT: You will be joining a team that really values psychology input, psychologically informed ways of working and multidisciplinary work. You will provide 1:1 assessment and therapy for older people with a range of mental health difficulties. Working alongside our established Principal CP you will support the MDT as a senior colleague by providing staff support, training, consultancy and supervision. Potential to develop your own role within service development opportunities.
Providing intensive support to people in the own homes to both avoid admission and support discharge from hospital. Opportunities for short- and longer-term input, including supporting through admissions, and continuing work on discharge to the CMHT. The team have not previously had psychology so this is a great opportunity to create and develop your role.

The content of this post will be reviewed in consultation with the postholder when necessary and in line with the service developments.
The post holder will provide specialist clinical psychology skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.
They will provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychologist colleagues, professionals from other agencies and carers. They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologist. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.
The post holder will provide support to Assistant Psychologists and Doctoral trainees. Flexible.
Work with people who have disabilities.

Degree in Psychology.
Doctoral qualification clinical psychology.
Appropriate safeguarding training.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.

A Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day is essential (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability).
Knowledge of adult & child protection legislation.
A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years (subject to the need to act with fairness and equality of opportunity, particularly where the sickness is related to a disability and/or pregnancy).
