Position Overview:


A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate professional to join a well known 5 star hotel group as the Assistant Director of Human Resources. This role involves supporting a highly respected HR Director, overseeing HR operations across two luxury properties, and contributing to the strategic direction of the HR function within the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the HR Director in advising and guiding all department heads across HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, payroll, reward, and recognition.
  • Lead and develop a team of HR & Recruitment Officers and HR Coordinators, ensuring high service delivery standards and promoting effective communication.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of best HR practices and suggest initiatives to enhance the employee experience and life cycle.
  • Support department heads to achieve talent retention goals and drive a high performance culture.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development Manager to support career development and learning initiatives within the hotels.
  • Handle employee relations cases, ensuring company policy and best practices are followed.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of HR in alignment with the hotels’ vision, values, and goals.
  • Proactively represent the hotel group externally, maintaining a valuable business network and staying informed on the latest HR trends.
  • Ensure the HR department meets the minimum requirements of the LQA standards at all times.


Candidate Profile:


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience at the HR Manager level or higher, preferably within a 5 star hotel environment.
  • Proven experience in payroll management, forecasting, and supervising HR operations across multiple locations.
  • Strong recruitment and operational HR skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of duties and responsibilities.
  • Well versed in UK employment law and able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices.
  • Impeccable personal presentation, with a naturally warm and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and deliver high standards of work with integrity.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office, including Excel.


Compensation:


  • Base salary of approximately £65,000, plus a target bonus.
