Job Overview

As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will be the pivotal technical resource for our company, driving and managing the "application evaluation" stage of the sales process. You will bridge the gap between customers and our Contracts/Engineering teams, showcasing your comprehensive understanding of our products.

You will be an integral part of the Sales team, forging strong relationships with our customers, addressing technical sales inquiries, crafting accurate and competitive quotes, and sourcing innovative solutions to meet their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings to understand and interpret their requirements.
  • Solution Design: Develop and cost effective, innovative solutions to meet customer needs, maximizing company benefits.
  • Quotation Management: Produce clear, detailed, and accurate quotations/tenders promptly and follow up to secure profitable orders.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain expert-level knowledge of our products and their applications.
  • Technical Support: Provide pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing customers.
  • Order Processing: Ensure quick processing of orders and smooth transfer of information to design and manufacturing departments.
  • Customer Relations: Keep customers informed of order status and resolve any issues swiftly.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders, and customer activities.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Site Visits: Conduct occasional site and customer visits.
  • Cross-Department Support: Collaborate with Contracts, Engineering, and Production departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with customers and potential customers to understand and fulfill their requirements.


Skills and Experience

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical mindset, able to read and interpret technical data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Degree in electrical, electronic, or control engineering.
  • Familiarity with large OEMs, contractors, or international customers.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of high power or high voltage applications.
