Role Overview:

The firm is seeking a dynamic and strategic Events & Business Development Manager to join the team, focusing on the Healthcare sector. This role presents a unique opportunity to spearhead business growth initiatives within one of the most critical and rapidly evolving industries in the UK. As a key member of the Business Development team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, and securing opportunities for the full-service law firm within the healthcare domain. We need someone that is confident, strategic and wants to understand the market place (there is a lot of internal support).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies aligned with the firm's objectives and the needs of the Healthcare industry.
  • Plan and coordinate various types of events, including seminars, conferences, webinars, networking events, and client entertainment activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of events, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual requirements, and promotional materials.
  • Manage event budgets effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Oversee event logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodation, and on-site coordination.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote events through various channels and maximize attendance.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of events and identify areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing relevant legal directory and award submissions.
  • Managing the BD budgets for the sectors, ensuring maximum ROI from all activities.
  • Providing sector updates through internal comms channels and regular Board reports.
  • Collaborating with the wider BD & Marketing team to share best practice and develop cross-sector legal solutions and campaigns.
  • Utilizing CRM systems - Peppermint CRM and Introhive - to support BD, marketing, and client development activity.
  • Developing relationships with key clients, prospects, intermediaries, industry groups, journalists, etc., and using these to support and enhance BD and marketing activities.


Requirements:

  • Extensive Event Planning and Associated Comms experience
  • Health and care sector experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record of developing an organization's profile and reputation through marketing events, communications, and campaigns.
  • Experience of identifying, generating, and supporting the conversion of new business opportunities.
  • Confident team player able to forge effective working relationships.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, results-oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate clearly, concisely & credibly.
  • Highly commercial - able to understand clients, the markets in which they operate, and the challenges and opportunities they face.
  • Very organized, with the ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems, and financial software/reports.
  • Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
