WPS team is responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, procurement and operations of Haleon’s real estate portfolio consisting of complex R&D facilities, office buildings, and sales office sites. The sites may be owned, leased or be occupied through a serviced space arrangement. WPS works in close collaboration with our Global Support Function partners (Tech, HR, EHS, Legal etc) and relies extensively on our network of vendor partners to deliver a safe, productive and desirable work environment for all users of our sites.

Role Overview
The WPS R&D sites head is responsible for development and delivery of the E2E real estate, capital improvement and facilities management strategy at both Haleon R&D sites (Weybridge and Richmond), ensuring regulatory needs, cost, quality and compliance metrics are achieved. The role works with the R&D site leadership and is required to deliver a coherent, joined up approach to employee experience and aligning to their customers business strategy, along with delivering the technical and regulatory needs of these sites. 


This is a high impact, high complexity role with significant scope that spans across multiple areas and suppliers.


In this role you will… 

  • Partner with the R&D leadership to strategically develop and evolve WPS strategy for the sites.
  • Establish and develop external relationships in the region and beyond, to optimize WPS operations, real estate and capital services to best serve our employees at the R&D sites
  • The role is required to customise the WPS strategy for the R&D sites and deliver them
  • Bring the technical expertise to identify, develop and grow a diverse professional team of best suited 3rd party providers accountable for the delivery of a world class end to end Real Estate and Facilities function for the sites. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional (e.g. HR, Tech, procurement etc to ensure WPS's services are integrated as part of a joined up, cohesive approach to employee experience.
  • Assume full accountability for the delivery of OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring financial acumen across their organization and responsibility for budget delivery 
  • Responsible for local delivery of all facilities and services for the R&D sites, ensuring cost, quality and compliance targets are achieved by key contract partners.
  • Develop and embed contract governance processes and structures to ensure value and delivery in the Service provider contracts, and to ensure effective risk management controls are in place.
  • Accountable for the prioritization and delivery of a program of capital projects (including minor works, infrastructure, business driven and energy projects) for the sites, working closely with the Real Estate and Capital leads and managing 3rd party project managers.
  • Align R&D needs and lead real estate transaction activities fin partnership with the Real Estate and Capital leads. 
  • Lead the onboarding of any new R&D sites into WPS management, ensuring thorough due diligence, solution development and service integration.
  • Validate performance reporting and ensure appropriate metrics are delivered by the service providers to key internal stakeholders.
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with internal HALEON policies, standards, procedures, alerts and relevant external regulatory requirements with respect to Quality, Statutory and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.

Business partnering & stakeholder management in Haleon

  • Build strategic relationship with a network of senior Haleon stakeholders, to understand R&D and business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position WPS’s value proposition. 
  • Influence key stakeholders to support strategy development endorse recommend strategies, support execution and agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted

Strategy execution

  • Align with broader WPS team and work in collaboration with them to provide local site requirements and market information 
  • Bring technical know how to customise the WPS strategy specifically for the R&D sites
  • Execute strategies in scope of responsibility aligned with the requirements of stakeholders 


Drive operational efficiency

  • Challenge requirements and educate stakeholder to drive maximum contract and policy compliance, employee experience and strategy alignment
  • Drive operational simplification across WPS areas and processes in scope

External supplier relationships

  • Build strategic relationships with key regional/local suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships. Ensure local considerations are accounted global & regional supplier relationships. 
  • Ensure regional considerations are taken into account in global supplier negotiations and contracts
  • Develop and Implement Operational excellence strategies and plans for key regional/local suppliers to drive improvements against KPIs.
