Veramed is looking for a Senior Budgets and Proposals Manager to join our fast-paced and growing Commercial Department. Veramed is a specialist biometrics CRO that provides high quality data management, statistics and programming services.


We have a unique people-focused approach and have grown from 2 to 370 staff in the last 11 years across the UK, Europe and US. The role could be fully remote in the UK, EU or US or based in one of our three UK offices (Twickenham, West London, Alderley Park, Cheshire and Swansea, South Wales) or a hybrid of home and office based.


The Senior Budgets and Proposals Manager joining us will work closely with the Director of Business Development and Marketing, and the operational team, to develop and manage client budgets and proposals.


We are looking for someone with a solid background creating budgets and proposals within a specialist CRO. This person will spend time in Excel budget tools delivering fixed price biometrics budgets and building proposals in Word or PowerPoint using a range of proposal templates.

They will work well under pressure, be agile and enjoy collaborating with multiple people, and have the ability to manage the strategy team to deliver high quality proposals to tight timelines.

The Senior Budgets and Proposals Manager we are looking for will be experienced in understanding the key components of a unit based budget and building a proposal that talks to the key pain points of particular sales prospects. Line management and mentoring experience will also be important.


The ideal candidate for the Senior Budgets and Proposals Manager position will have a positive, can-do attitude and approachable manner. You like to take the lead within your area, working alongside operational management as well as executive stakeholders in the business. You enjoy bringing people together and following a process through from start to finish l, but you also recognise the need for flexibility on high priority opportunities.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Budgets and Proposals Manager will be:


Budgets & Proposals

  • Develop client budgets and proposals collaborating with the operational team to deliver on time and in line with the bid strategy
  • Track client proposals from the initial request for proposal through to opportunity award in Salesforce
  • Support liaison with current and potential clients in relation to proposals, contracts and amendments
  • Facilitate responses to requests for information, pre-qualification questionnaires, invitations to tender and requests for proposals
  • Organise and attend internal and external strategy meetings that are part of the bid


Contracts

  • Oversee aspects of contract management through contract lifecycle, from contract award, change management and up to and including project closeout
  • Work with BD Lead / Account Managers to provide timely communication with clients to update on status of contract negotiations
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with outsourcing vendors, prepare vendor-specific RFPs and obtain vendor quotes, where applicable


Process Optimisation

  • Work with operational team to maintain and optimise budget and proposal templates and tools
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the Contracts & Proposals department with the strategic goals of the organisation


Additional requirements

  • More than 7 years experience working in Proposals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, google documents and managing CRM solutions, such as Salesforce
  • Management experience (people and projects).
  • Strong customer services and problem-solving skills
