We are seeking a CONSULTANT to join our growing team. The role will focus on defining international development strategies on behalf of our fast-growing client base.

The ideal candidate should be analytical and strategy-minded, with prior experience in consumer-focused consulting firms, international development or franchising within the foodservice sector. Prior knowledge of the European foodservice sector is a significant advantage. 

The role can be based anywhere in Europe, will be predominantly remote-working based and shall involve some travelling. We offer a competitive remuneration package depending on the candidate's experience.

Consultant – Strategic Advisory - detailed role specification

The role

  • Able to add value to a dynamic, top-tier advisory company dedicated to providing the restaurant and foodservice sector with comprehensive market-leading strategies for sustained growth. 
  • You will be participating in some of the most important strategic challenges and decisions faced by our clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify growth opportunities by gaining a deep understanding of the client's business, segment of the industry alongside the opportunities and challenges they might face

Focus on delivering growth strategies bespoke to the needs of each of our clients:

  • Analyse the relevant markets and industry segment, addressing key trends, industry data,competition, key trade areas and geographies, etc.
  • Understand the client's business, development journey, key learnings alongside the client's brand positioning and place within the sector
  • Understand client’s formats and business models, assess sustainability of these models and formats in other European countries.
  • Complete country and market assessments, prioritising opportunities in new markets and define development roadmaps.
  • Explain clearly the proposed development strategies and routes to market entry addressing key challenges and milestones
  • Review and make recommendations on client’s development toolkit and information package (marketing, legal, finance, operations, etc.).
  • Flexible enough to get involved in other mandates depending on workflow.
  • The position reports to the Senior Consultant.

The attributes

  • Degree educated.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, thus able to represent WSP in the most pertinent, sophisticated and meaningful manner dealing with top-tier executives and entrepreneurs. Fluency in any other European language would be a plus.
  • Experience in consumer-focused consulting firm, large restaurant group (development/franchise or finance/commercial team), F&B team of a large broker or shopping centre operator.
  • Deeply passionate about foodservice, at ease with the key F&B players, leading investors, shopping mall operators.
  • At ease with international development strategies and commercial due diligences.
  • Excellent analytical skills and business modelling understanding.
  • Strong research and data collection skills with the ability to turn them into clear insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Client-oriented, responsive, proactive, keen to work in a demanding and rigorous environment. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environment with short deadlines when required.
  • Forensic mindset, attention to details.
  • A team-player, with strong ethics and professional values (integrity, respect, transparency).
  • Ambition to grow in the company.
  • The Consultant can remote work from any European location and the position will include some travelling mainly in European countries.
