Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Solutions Engineering to lead and grow our global solutions engineering team while also playing an active role in the field as a Solutions Engineer. This individual will balance the responsibilities of managing the team with working directly on customer-facing projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring successful solution sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solutions sales, managerial experience, and a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the global Solutions Engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Team Growth: Recruit, onboard and mentor new Solutions Engineers to the team as the company scales.
- Solution Sales: Actively engage in customer projects, working with Account Executives in the sales cycle and owning the technical and value discovery and validation aspects of the sales process.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with sales teams to identify client needs, participate in technical presentations and demonstrations, and develop value focused solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to understand their challenges, architect solutions, and ensure Lineview solutions will meet their business objectives.
- Technical Escalation: Serve as a technical and value escalation point, working both with the team and directly with clients as needed.
- Collaboration: Work with product management and development teams to influence product features and enhancements based on customer feedback and field experience.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements within the solutions engineering function, optimizing both team performance and technical delivery in the field.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, ideally in a technical B2B SaaS environment.
- Previous managerial experience, leading a team of technical professionals.
- Proven success in working directly with clients to design and implement tailored technical solutions based on value.
- Experience working with or selling to the manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct customer engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software systems is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in English; additional languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance monitoring or optimization solutions in manufacturing.
- Background in systems integration or solution architecture.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
Location & Travel:
- This role is based in the UK, with the flexibility for remote or hybrid work.
- Travel will be required to meet with clients, attend conferences, or visit the global team, as well as to engage directly with customer projects.
