Role: Senior Compliance Engineer (Functional Safety)

Salary: Up to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location: England

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage functional safety activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
  • Develop and maintain safety plans, hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, development, testing, and quality assurance, to integrate safety requirements into product development processes.
  • Conduct safety audits, assessments, and reviews to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and training on functional safety standards and practices to internal teams.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to achieve necessary approvals and certifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in functional safety methodologies.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Commercial experience in a functional safety role.
  • In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar).
  • Proven track record of leading safety activities and achieving compliance in complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Certification in functional safety is highly desirable.
