Procter and Street is excited to collaborate with a prominent and growing Civil Engineering firm specializing in Highway Maintenance.

With nearly five decades of excellence in the industry, our client has cultivated a highly respected clientele, a testament to their unwavering commitment to superior service.


They are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety professional to enhance their expanding team, ideally someone with extensive experience in the Civil Engineering and Highway sectors.

The successful candidate will reflect our client's dedication to providing exceptional service and will play a crucial role in equipping a workforce of over 100 employees with the essential knowledge and best practices for safety.


Key Responsibilities:
As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team to enhance Health & Safety Management Systems and ensure a secure working environment for all personnel on-site.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Conducting thorough site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Offering expert advice on current legislation, policies, and procedures to key stakeholders.
  • Coaching and advising managers throughout the organization to foster a robust Health and Safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Developing Risk Assessments and Method Statements in accordance with legislation for site activities.
  • Preparing and disseminating health and safety reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participating in internal and client meetings to provide insights on health and safety issues.
  • Investigating incidents and performing root cause analyses to implement corrective actions.
  • Reviewing existing work systems to identify areas for enhancement.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Construction/General certificate.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CDM and relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in the Civil Engineering sector is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of engaging effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • A motivated individual with strong leadership and influence capabilities.
