Profile:
Sales & Tendering Engineer required to look after entire service portfolio for Transformers Services across the UK & Ireland – aiming to maximize the size of the market potential.
This role involves visiting new and existing clients to secure business, agree scopes of work, prepare costing and engage with the wider business. You will be working with market managers, the tendering team, as well as operations and technical teams. You will have the ability to create compelling, innovative product value propositions, by visiting new and existing customers.
Use interpersonal skills to build relationships and strengthen relationships, be confident, articulate and a great communicator to thrive in achieving business targets, growing new customers and increasing market segments through intelligence and insight.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Driving Transformers business through sales and tendering.
- Implementing the local product marketing strategy
- Visiting potential clients to present offering, agreeing client requirements, product value propositions and product positioning and tendering of defined scope.
- Involved in the market analysis with the Sales team, responsible for forecasts and detailed business/marketing plans for allocated areas of the portfolio.
- Achieving business targets through regular review of sales and tendering activities and implementation of improvement/focus plans as needed.
- Understanding Customer Service principles and their effect on the business.
- To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies and approval procedures
- Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.
Ideal Background:
- A Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or similar. 2 years of experience in Sales and/or tendering
- Preferably from a background in a Power Engineering industry with focus on service and after sales
- A passion for sales in a technical setting and familiar with prospecting and closing deals with customers
- Familiar with sales and marketing tools such as Sales Force/digital marketing tools –LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Travelling and frequent interaction with customers are expected, mainly within the allocated markets (UK and IE)
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills.
