Our client, a Financial Services organisation based in Brighton, is urgently seeking a PMO Manager. This role is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects to drive forward the PMO Group strategy and related business plan, aligned with the global IT strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Act as PMO Manager for various global operations and IT projects, ensuring alignment with the client's Project Management Standard.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Initiate and facilitate project meetings, maintain necessary project documentation, and ensure transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Project Planning: Design and execute comprehensive project plans, including defining deliverables, forming execution strategies, supervising tasks, and managing integrated change control.
  • Resource Management: Identify and manage both human and financial resources required for projects.
  • Performance Reporting: Compile and submit project performance reports to relevant stakeholders, including Program Managers, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committees.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, record, and address project risks and issues, ensuring action plans are in place and tracked to closure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and acknowledge stakeholder requirements, ensuring they are considered transparently throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Closure: Confirm project closure with Program Managers, Project Sponsors, and Business Owners.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Over 3 years as a PMO, ideally in the financial services industry, focusing on process transformation and IT solution delivery.
  • Domain Knowledge: High-level business and functional domain knowledge.
  • Certifications: Familiarity with PMI’s PMBOK Guide® or similar; certifications such as PMP, MSP, or PRINCE2 are desirable.
  • Vendor Management: Ability to manage outsourcing vendors effectively.
  • Skills: Strategic and business management skills, experience managing complex enterprise-wide projects, and effective communication at all organizational levels within EMEA and globally.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with key metrics and processes for business areas such as Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.


Additional Attributes:

  • Strategic Alignment: Ability to define and own the IT Mission, formulate, and deploy IT strategic plans aligning with the business needs.
  • Influence and Consultation: Proven ability to consult with and gain support from key stakeholders, particularly department heads across all divisions.
  • Project Management Qualifications: Formal qualifications such as ITIL, APM, Prince2, MSP, PMP, and asset management experience will be advantageous.
