Position Overview

InterQuest Group is currently seeking a Project Management Office (PMO) Lead for a prominent Financial Services client. This position is pivotal in ensuring the effective execution of various initiatives that align with the PMO Group's strategic objectives and the overarching IT framework.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Project Management: Serve as the PMO Lead for a range of global operational and IT initiatives, ensuring adherence to the established Project Management Standards.
  • Communication with Stakeholders: Organize and lead project meetings, maintain essential project documentation, and facilitate clear communication with all stakeholders involved.
  • Project Development: Create and implement detailed project plans, defining key deliverables, developing execution strategies, overseeing task management, and controlling integrated changes.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify and manage the necessary human and financial resources for successful project execution.
  • Reporting on Performance: Prepare and present project performance reports to relevant stakeholders, including Program Managers and Project Sponsors.
  • Management of Risks and Issues: Identify, document, and address project risks and issues, ensuring that action plans are developed and monitored until resolution.
  • Engagement with Stakeholders: Recognize and address stakeholder needs, ensuring their requirements are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Closure of Projects: Confirm project completion with Program Managers, Project Sponsors, and Business Owners.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a PMO role, preferably within the financial services sector, with a focus on process improvement and IT solution implementation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of business and functional domains.
  • Certifications: Knowledge of PMI's PMBOK Guide or similar frameworks; certifications such as PMP, MSP, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
  • Vendor Oversight: Proven ability to effectively manage outsourcing partners.
  • Skill Set: Strong strategic and business management capabilities, experience in overseeing complex enterprise-wide projects, and proficient communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with key performance indicators and processes relevant to business functions such as Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

Additional Competencies:

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to articulate and implement the IT Mission, developing strategic plans that align with business objectives.
  • Influence and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to engage with and secure support from key stakeholders, particularly department leaders across various divisions.
  • Project Management Credentials: Formal qualifications such as ITIL, APM, Prince2, MSP, PMP, and experience in asset management are beneficial.
