We are recruiting for a Telephone Operator to join our client at their site in Kilmarnock. (Immediate start available).


The Telephone Operator will be responsible for answering incoming calls, handling customer inquiries, directing calls to appropriate personnel and providing general information. It is essential for the operator to possess and maintain a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and ensure a positive experience for all callers.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Promptly answer incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Screen and direct calls to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Ensure minimal wait time for callers.
  • Take messages accurately and ensure they are delivered promptly to the intended recipient.
  • Operate telephone equipment and software efficiently, reporting any technical issues to the IT department.


Previous experience in a customer service or telephone operator role is preferred but is not essential.


Skills:


  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in using telephone systems and related software or the ability and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Other office duties may be required from time to time. For example, filing, faxing, email etc.


This position will initially be offered on a full time, temporary basis but may lead to a permanent contract.


Weekly hours are Monday - Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm (35 hour week).
