The role


Through great partnering with Senior Leaders and their teams, provide high quality leadership of all strategic people related activity to enable the business to achieve its strategy and objectives and our overall people goal and culture. To lead other HR Business Partners and business wide people initiatives and solutions as required.


What you’ll do


Customer / Strategy / Plan


  • Through great relationship and coaching skills, influence the ongoing effectiveness of designated Senior Leaders and their teams and ensure a high performance culture is driven across Marshall Motor Group
  • As a key member of the HR Leadership Team, in partnership with the HR Director, shape the design of the overall business wide people goal, approach and plan and lead the consistent implementation of any business wide people initiatives and solutions
  • Lead the development and enable the implementation of all organisation design and change in Marshall Motor Group, partnering senior leaders in shaping and delivering their business operating models
  • Lead the focus on identifying and shaping current and future people capability and workforce requirements and develop plans to deliver these requirements for Marshall Motor Group
  • Drive the senior leader succession and development plan for the business to ensure there is on ongoing pipeline of senior leaders to drive the business forwards
  • Lead the focus on improving people engagement and experience in Marshall Motor Group through all strategic HR activity, e.g. cultural development, communication, talent management, performance, reward etc
  • Identify key people trends and insights in Marshall Motor Group and the wider business and drive improvements across all key metrics and targets
  • Lead on designated sensitive/high risk ER cases, e.g. settlement agreements and tribunal claims as required in the business
  • In delivering all the above, engage, leverage and work with all the specialist areas within the HR function and all key business stakeholders



People/Leadership


  • Lead, motivate and develop a number of HR Business Partners
  • Role model the business values and behaviours and provide wider leadership across the HR function to continually improve our employer brand as a business and reputation as a HR function
  • Support, coach and be the main internal confidant to designated Senior Leaders
  • Lead business wide people projects, change, initiatives and solutions as required



Financial / Commercials


  • Support the development and management of the overall HR function budget and plan
  • HR budget responsibility for key business areas/designated parts of the overall HR function budget
  • Responsible for own and other HRBPs spend and expenses and any designated spend on projects as required



Risk / Process


  • Lead the focus on driving appropriate business wide people consistency and standardisation, e.g. key processes
  • Lead the focus and effective management of key people risks and governance in their business areas and fully support the effective management of business wide people risks and governance
  • Provide ongoing feedback to senior leaders within the HR function to continually improve the function’s overall capability and service levels to the business to ensure it remains relevant to support the business objectives


Who you are


  • Strong multi-site business experience and working in a fast paced, high change, commercial environment
  • Strong HR leadership skills and experience
  • Strong overall leadership, influencing and coaching skills and the ability to challenge and impact at a senior level
  • Proven track record in managing and sustaining effective relationships at a senior level
  • Strong commercial awareness and business understanding; customer focused; strategic and forward thinking
  • HR professional with strong experience in partnering Senior Leaders/team across strategic HR disciplines, e.g. organisation change, talent, succession, leadership and cultural development, engagement, experience etc
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Strong organisational design and change management skills and experience
  • Experience and ability to working effectively in a matrix structure/organisation
  • Highly proactive, resilient, results driven
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Highly tech and digitally “savvy” and orientated
  • Good legislation and regulation (business compliance) knowledge, e.g. employment law, H&S, ISO Quality etc
  • CIPD level 7 or equivalent qualification /experience


Desirable


  • Automotive industry experience
  • Experience of working in various specialist HR roles and senior business roles
  • Proven experience of leading transformational change programmes/projects
  • Strong knowledge of HR technology, LEAN or other business efficiency methodologies
