Overview

An opportunity has arrisen to work within the Waters Quality department as a Product Quality Engineer, with a focus on improving the quality of products received and shipped to ensure continual improvement of processes, thus helping reduce defects and issues.

To drive product improvements within the organisation and the supply chain by highlighting gaps, implementing improved processes and continual management of the product related QMS (including corrective and preventive actions).

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Represents supplier quality for new product development activities, supports supplier performance assessment process and prioritises actions to address adverse trends.
  • Attends regular communication with cross-functional teams to identify root cause of problems and create plans for short term and long-term remediation
  • Support activities related to the QMS including CAPA, NCRs, MRB, deviations etc
  • Performs external (supplier) audits.
  • Represents Quality Engineering through product lifecycle management to help ensure product manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Identify new, or changes to existing, processes and systems to improve effectivity and efficiency of the Quality system in accordance with the requirements of: ISO 9001; ISO 13485; 21 CFR part 820.

Qualifications

Education:

A qualification in an Engineering / Science subject or relevant experience in an Engineering / Science related function.

Experience:
  • Proven knowledge of ISO 9001, experience in ISO 13485 and 21 CFR part 820 desired
  • Demonstrated practical approach towards problem solving.
  • Good understanding of supplier quality.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.

Competencies:
  • Good written and oral communication skills are required, for example to ensure succinct report generation,
    effective communication with staff, peer groups, etc across organisation.
  • Must be able to work independently and communicate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Computer literate - knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel an advantage - in order to produce reports,
    analyse data etc effectively.

Travel:

Travel may be required to support Supplier visits and audits.
