Reimagine the possibilities.Your role and responsibilitiesYour day-to-day responsibilities will include responding to planning consultations on behalf of the Local Highway Authority that will involve liaising with a variety of people internally and externally to agree design principles for new development.You will work to secure infrastructure improvements to mitigate the impact of development using your skills and experience of highways and planning.You will play a key role in enhancing accessibility for all in Suffolk.You will also support colleagues with developing town wide transport plans including proposals for suitable schemes in those locations.You will manage the work of Transport Planning Engineers and Technicians and assist with their development.You will needpassion for promoting high standards of sustainable transport in new developments by influencing a wide audience as to the benefits for the people of Suffolkhigh level understanding of all aspects of highway design and construction and relevant sections of the Highway Actsignificant experience in interpreting complex transport assessments and responding to developers/consultantscapability of representing the team at meetings with internal and external organisations (as appropriate) to provide expert advice in area of work sometimes in challenging circumstances.You can view a full list of requirements in theJob and Person Profile (docx).If you believe you can succeed in this role apply.
