Job Summary

We are recruiting for an Internal Communications Executive who will work with the Europe and India Internal Communications and Talent Acquisition (TA) teams and will be responsible for supporting our Buildings&Places Business Line in communicating effectively within their teams and to the broader business.

You will be the co-ordinator of news, stories, project wins, milestones, campaign content and events related to Buildings&Places.
Providing tactical advice on the effective use of internal communication within the Buildings&Places business and act as key contact point (including stakeholder management) for members of Buildings&Places leadership teams, you would be writing, editing, researching and curating stories from our Buildings&Places teams across UK & Ireland for use in a range of platforms, including:

  • Company intranet (known as Ecosystem)

  • Emails / newsletters

  • Internal social media platform

  • Video clips / digital media

  • Presentations

  • Local offices

  • Events


Other responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Buildings&Places UK&I Leadership Team to develop, manage and implement the Buildings&Places internal communications plan, including agreeing key messages and consistent themes based on agreed priorities; frequency and timing of comms and selection of comms channels to achieve optimal engagement with and penetration of messaging across the business;

  • Support with people engagement comms including people spotlights and promoting our Buildings&Places Employee Value Proposition to existing employees and working with the TA marketing lead to support recruitment and staff attraction;

  • Working with sector marketing teams and discipline teams to provide internal communications support on key strategic marketing campaigns/priorities;

  • Work closely with the Internal Communications team for Europe and India in support of regional delivery of company-wide communication campaigns.

  • Liaise with the Europe and India Marketing & Communications team to ensure end market content is showcased and promoted more broadly through all the relevant internal communications platforms.

  • Liaise with Buildings&Places Global to make sure Buildings&Places Europe & India is well represented within the global business;

  • Bring new thinking and best practice into their work including the application of digital media.

  • Provide guidance to a range of colleagues on internal communications content including language, tone, messaging and publication effectiveness.

  • Co-ordination and development of key material (presentations, newsletters and emails)

Minimum Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with minimum internal communications’ experience working within a large, preferably professional services, organisation.

  • You must have proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a variety of projects and tasks, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and be able to work equally effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • An understanding of the built environment industry would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Writing skills: Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from the business.

  • Influencing and stakeholder management skills: Can interact at a senior level, providing credible advice and guidance, as well as building good networks and relationships at all levels of an organisation.

  • Completion skills: Able to work independently, taking projects through to completion both working as part of a team and independently.

  • Creative skills: The creative ability to storyboard internal campaigns and material that will engage and excite staff.

  • Software skills: Good working knowledge of PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop and SharePoint (desirable).

  • Digital skills: Experience in delivering content through multi-media and digital platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, ideally in English, Journalism, Communications or Marketing.
