Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We are looking for exceptional individuals for these positions who will report to the Strategic Lead for Neighbourhoods and City-Wide Social Work for Adult Social Care. 

The Service Manager Localities and Neighbourhoods (Central/ South) are responsible for the strategic and operational management of the relevant teams, ensuring the delivery of a high quality and systematically informed social work service within developing Council practice framework. This will include promoting and governing excellent social work practice across the service, ensuring purposeful work with citizens, families, support networks and other professionals to ensure assessments are strengths based, citizens are safeguarded, and outcomes are improved. 

The role holders will ensure the delivery of a social work service which is both relationship-based and responsive to the needs of citizens and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines and duties. The role holders will ensure the development of a culture of learning and improvement. 

The role holders will manage four Integrated Neighbourhood Teams within their locality , as well as a one specialist team, including Citywide Care Homes Team, Citywide Review Team, Manchester Case Management and Carers Team.
