As the Head of Sales, you'll be at the forefront of driving our business growth by expanding our client base and nurturing our existing relationships. This is a dynamic role that combines proactive business development with the technical design of solar systems, allowing you to play a key role in helping clients achieve their sustainability goals. You'll also develop and implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives, while leading and mentoring a dedicated team of three sales professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar energy sector.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key clients and industry partners.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to inform strategy.
Client System Design
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their energy needs and design tailored solar solutions.
- Provide technical expertise during the design phase to ensure optimal system performance.
- Work in partnership with the technical team to develop accurate and efficient solar panel systems.
Ongoing Client Support
- Serve as a dedicated point of contact, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
- Assist clients as they expand or adapt their solar energy systems, offering expert guidance and solutions.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships.
Business Strategy Development
- Lead the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies that align with our overall business goals.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and sales data to make informed strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of three sales staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Set clear performance targets and monitor both individual and team achievements.
- Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and results-driven work environment.

What you'll need to succeed

- Solar Savvy: You'll have proven experience in solar energy sales or a related technical field, with a solid understanding of the ins and outs of solar panel installation.
- Business Builder: You'll be a pro at business development, with a track record of successfully acquiring new clients and driving revenue growth.
- Team Leader: You'll have experience managing a sales team and know how to inspire and motivate others to achieve their best.
- People Person: Your communication and interpersonal skills are top-notch, making it easy for you to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
- Industry Insight: Knowledge of the construction industry and technical sales is a bonus, but your ability to assess market trends and identify growth opportunities is a must.
- Tech-Savvy: You're proficient in Salesforce or other CRM software, using it to track sales activities and manage customer relationships effectively.
- Flexible & Mobile: You're comfortable with hybrid working-spending three days in our Maidstone office and two days working from home-and are willing to travel as needed.
