Here's what you'll be doing:
You'll be a key point of contact for all financial reporting for monthly and quarterly reporting to our parent company, Travelers and FCA including completion of the Monthly Balance Sheets, SOX compliance and VAT, PSA, HMRC returns.
Reporting to Jen Johnson (Financial Reporting Manager), you'll have ownership of the relationship with our bankers and be a superuser on the systems.
Closing date for internal applications is 30th July 2024As one of our Financial Reporting Accountants, you'll own the month-end process by:calculating and posting monthly journals and preparing accurate and supported balance sheet reconciliationsassisting in preparing monthly management accounts and reports assisting in preparing financial reports for shareholders, on a monthly and quarterly basiscompletion of the quarter end VAT returns and submission to HMRC, preparation of the annual adjustment for partial rated VAT percentage and corresponding journals and dealing with adhoc VAT queries from the businessleading all audit related workstreams, supporting queries for both internal and external audits (including SOX reporting and tax) and supporting the embedding of financial controls as relevantWe're looking for someone who is:an qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)experienced and knowledgeable of IFRSUS GAAP experience desirable, but not essentialexperience having worked in a top 10 accounting practise is desirableability to keep up to date with standards, disclosure requirements and prepare accounting judgement papershighly numeric with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to identify control weaknesses and proactive in suggesting and implementing improvements(We know it's tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap .
