About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team at Simply Business. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting to our parent company and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accounting and Analysis: Perform financial analysis and provide insights to management to inform business decisions.
  • SOX Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other regulatory requirements.
  • VAT and Taxation: Manage VAT and tax compliance, including preparation of VAT returns and submission to HMRC.
  • Audit and Risk Management: Lead audit-related workstreams and identify and mitigate financial risks.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify control weaknesses and implement improvements.
  • Experience: Experience working in a top 10 accounting practice or a similar environment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, with the ability to keep up to date with standards and disclosure requirements.
