The Company

With a broad customer base within the Automotive sector our client develop and deliver effective solutions through their breadth of understanding and experience of the sector. Long established in the Midlands with their group HQ based near Birmingham airport they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team.

The Role

You will be responsible for processing payroll for circa 1400 staff with the majority being paid hourly on shift patterns and around 400 monthly paid. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create and maintain accurate and complete payroll records ensuring confidentiality of all employee information
  • Calculate wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records
  • Calculate and process pay adjustments on a timely basis
  • Process and upload overtime and time lost data
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in T&A records and payroll records
  • Prepare, manipulate and interpret data to allow automatic upload into payroll system and help with strategic decision making
  • Weekly review of clocking system and reporting any differences
  • Manage the holiday and absence system, ensuring that all records are accurate and complete
  • Process pension information
  • Assist with a number of payroll projects to drive efficiencies and streamline processes

The Candidate

With proven experience working at a senior level in a payroll department and up to date technical payroll knowledge you will have exceptional communication skills being able to build relationship and influence decisions. This role will involve working closely with the Group FC and Senior Payroll Supervisor on a number of key projects so experience of process improvement and payroll projects will be a great advantage.
