We're recruiting for an exciting 6-month fixed term opportunity focussed on supporting the delivery of the 'Hello Stranger' programme in collaboration with Wildworks, the UK's leading landscape theatre company.

'Hello Stranger' is a major community engagement arts programme involving over 60 artists delivering 17 art projects co-produced with local people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. National Trust properties in Cornwall will host several 'Hello Stranger' projects between July 2024 and March 2025, including a digital participation strand and the final exhibition.

This role will work closely with the Experiences and Partnerships Curator (project lead) to help deliver this creative programming across multiple Cornish properties. You'll liaise with National Trust colleagues at a regional and property level, local community representatives, and members of the Wildworks project team.

This could suit someone looking to gain experience delivering audience-focussed creative programming with external partners. When not working from home or office, there will be a requirement for travel throughout Cornwall.

What it's like to work here

You'll be part of the Trust's internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you'll be working with others to help make things happen.

Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Lanhydrock. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We'll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.



What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities include, Liaising with property teams across Cornwall to coordinate community engagement activity at our places aligned to the 'Hello Stranger' programme.
You'll be audience-focussed, looking for opportunities to create accessible and compelling experiences that make our places representative of the people they serve. You'll promote and support opportunities for the creative participation of National Trust staff and volunteer teams in the Hello Stranger programme, for example: Story Shelter. You'll work with the Experiences and Partnerships Curator and Wildworks' Community Engagement and Programme Manager to finalise arrangements for the Story-Shelter and Hello Stranger exhibitions, taking place across multiple host venues in Cornwall.
You'll also work with the Wildworks team and their artists to develop carefully co-branded interpretation, compiling engaging and high quality content. You'll liaise with designers and printers to deliver printed and digital collateral to National Trust standards of brand and accessibility.
As well as helping to capture and track evaluation to feed in to our project reporting, helping to share best practice in creative collaboration across the National Trust
