  • Manage a team of finance analysts
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual close in compliance with SOX requirements
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and identify risk and opportunities
  • Lead quarterly balance sheet review meeting
  • Lead the development of our nursey management system
  • Work on a wide variety of projects including process improvements
  • Occasionally deputise for the Financial Controller supporting the Finance Transactions team when required
Responsible For:
  • Leading and developing a team of finance analysts
  • Reviewing and challenging month end journal postings to ensure financial statements are true and accurate
  • Reviewing and challenging Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis, ensuring the process is conducted in a robust and timely manner, well understood across the team and that old balances are investigated and resolved, and risks and opportunities are highlighted
  • Collaborating across other teams at Bright Horizons such as Operations, Commercial Finance, Marketing and Property on financial account queries and leading the accounting on new initiatives and projects
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to ensure tasks are being done in the most efficient manner and risks are mitigated
  • Leading the development and constant improvement of our nursery management system ensuring it remains supportive with current operational processes and also meets Revenue Recognition requirements
  • Supporting internal and external auditors
Essential Experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 2+ years PQE
  • Confident in delivering accurate and timely month- and quarter-end reporting
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Team management
Experience Desirable:
  • Experience in driving process improvements and change management
  • Understanding of SOX controls and requirements
