Financial Crime Risk and Controls Specialist

Role Objective
The primary aim of this position is to facilitate the effectiveness of senior leadership by guiding them through intricate challenges, enabling informed decision-making, and achieving strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic assistance to senior leaders, including the CEO, in formulating and executing both annual and long-term business strategies, conducting research, and performing analyses to support decision-making while acting as a representative for the senior leader in designated scenarios.
- Oversee colleague engagement initiatives aligned with strategic objectives, manage communication channels, and ensure seamless coordination across various departments and teams.
- Manage critical projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of senior leaders, ensuring that strategic projects remain on schedule, tracking progress, and delivering regular updates to the executive team.
- Enhance operational efficiency in collaboration with functional partners by identifying improvement opportunities, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices to boost productivity and effectiveness.
- Develop performance reporting for essential metrics that align with the division's strategic objectives and support external commitments. Analyze data to extract insights that drive performance, including aspects of financial analysis, budget management, and monitoring financial performance against established targets.
- Assist senior leadership in ensuring adequate resource allocation across the business/function, including planning and forecasting, partnering with HR to promote talent development and succession planning, identifying high-potential employees, providing mentorship, and supporting leadership development and diversity initiatives.
- Support senior executives with oversight of risk and controls, crisis management, and risk mitigation, assisting in the formulation of contingency plans, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring business continuity.
- Establish a comprehensive governance framework that supports the board of directors, executive forums, and governance committees through the preparation of board materials, organization of meetings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Consult on complex matters, offering guidance to People Leaders to aid in resolving escalated issues.
- Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop new policies/procedures to support the control and governance agenda.
- Take responsibility for managing risk and reinforcing controls related to the work performed.
- Engage in work closely related to other areas, necessitating an understanding of how these areas coordinate and contribute to achieving organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with various work areas to stay informed about business activities and strategies.
- Conduct complex data analysis from multiple internal and external sources, creatively solving problems.
- Effectively communicate intricate information, which may include sensitive or challenging content.
- Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
