Position Overview

As a Governance & Risk Control Specialist at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the first line of defense within the Payments Management division. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a robust governance and control framework that aligns with the overarching objectives of the Payments team. You will engage with senior stakeholders to ensure the governance documentation is regularly reviewed and updated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate strategic initiatives for risk management, ensuring the application of contemporary methodologies and practices.
  • Oversee the risk department, including managing team performance, setting risk priorities, and enhancing departmental efficiency.
  • Foster relationships with risk stakeholders, ensuring the quality of external service providers is upheld.
  • Ensure compliance with risk policies, standards, and frameworks, while maintaining a strong control environment.
