Join us as a Risk & Control Manager, supporting the 1LOD Barclays Payments Management function. Build and support the governance & control framework for the wider Payments team, adhering to governance document reviews and managing the process for updates with senior stakeholders.
You may be assessed on critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as a strong understanding of a Governance & Control environment and the Enterprise Risk Management framework. Additional skills include a solid background in credit risk. This role is based in Northampton.

Support the Risk Function in delivering its objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.
- Development of strategic direction for risk, including up-to-date methodologies and processes.
- Manage the risk department, including risk colleagues' performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, and oversight of department efficiency.
- Relationship management with risk stakeholders, maintaining quality of external third-party services.
- Adherence to Risk policy, standards, frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.
Assistant Vice President Expectations- Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders for resolving escalated issues.
- Identify risk mitigation ways, developing new policies/procedures for control and governance agenda support.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Engage in work related closely to other areas, understanding coordination for organisational objective achievement.
- Collaborate with other work areas, aligning with business activities and strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems effectively.
- Communicate complex information, including sensitive or challenging content.
- Influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
