POSITION SUMMARY

The Glasgow Marriott is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Recreation Experience Expert to join our Leisure Club team. The Recreation Experience Expert takes pride in providing a high level of customer care to all Leisure Club customers, and ensuring the pool is manned at allocated times. Undergoing an exciting refurbishment this year, including all Leisure Club areas, this is certainly the role for you to make a difference and be part of the new product.

The impact you'll make.

You will promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere to guests, whilst promoting the rules and regulations of the leisure facilities intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members. Clean and maintain leisure facilities, equipment, and supplies.

What you'll do.
  • Welcome guests on arrival to required standard, and ensure their details are entered into the computer correctly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with the Leisure Manager on a regular basis, about any administrative or special duties, and attend team meetings when required.
  • Ensure that cashing up procedures are always adhered to ensuring that all monies and charges are correctly balanced, and security checks are made according to laid down procedures.
  • Pool lifeguard duties at specified times during the week, ensuring the pool users are informed of the normal operating procedures. At times relevant, initiating the Emergency operating procedures.
  • Always maintaining a high standard of customer care within the Club. Motivating members to participate within the Club's activities.
  • Observing use of equipment and assisting members in correct skills and technique for the physical exercise stations.
  • To conduct Gymnasium inductions for the general use of the equipment.
  • To attend regular training days for the maintenance of pool lifeguard and First Aid skills/qualifications.
This role also requires the ability to move and lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs. In addition, you'll need to be able to reach overhead and below your knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping, and move over uneven or sloping surfaces.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who we anticipate will have worked in a similar role within the hospitality or leisure industry. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is a fast learner, adaptable and has exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to be extremely efficient and professionally skilled in:
  • Effective communication (verbal, listening, writing) and negotiation skills.
  • Nationally recognized Pool Lifeguard Qualification preferable
  • First Aid Qualification preferable
  • Proactive and reliable
  • Responsible and highly motivated
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol or Personal License Holder Certificated preferred.
