Job Title: Senior Social Work Practitioner EDT

Location: Powys , Wales

salary: £45 p.h

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our Emergency Duty Team (EDT). This role is essential in ensuring that we continue to provide excellent services to those in need, particularly during out-of-hours periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake risk assessments and manage complex service user needs.

Engage in interagency working to provide comprehensive support to service users.

Conduct Child/Adult Protection Investigations and work within the framework of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

Handle situations involving conflict, hostility, and vulnerability with professionalism and sensitivity.

Provide support and intervention for a range of service users, including those with mental health issues, child care needs, and other adult services.

Maintain extensive practice as a senior practitioner in child care, mental health, adult services, or generic work out of hours.

Essential Competencies:

A minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience as a social worker in statutory social services.

Proven experience in interagency collaboration.

Proficiency in undertaking risk assessments and managing complex cases.

Capability to handle conflict and vulnerability effectively.

Experience working with diverse service user groups.

Substantial experience in child care, mental health, adult services, or generic out-of-hours work.

Proficiency in conducting Child/Adult Protection Investigations.

Familiarity with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

Qualifications/Training:

A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).

Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) status.
