The North East Essex Sanctuary is a new service which will provide support to those who are at risk of experiencing a mental health crisis. The coordinator of this service is part of an experienced team who provide emotional support to people through active listening, de-escalation and distraction techniques prevent unnecessary referrals to secondary mental health services, A&E departments, and other emergency services.

The post holder will support staff and volunteers using their knowledge of the mental health systems in North East Essex whilst recruiting, training and supporting the volunteers that support this service.

The post holder will deputise for the service manager and support the senior support workers when necessary.

The Sanctuary operates from two central locations, one in Colchester and one in Clacton with outreach in Harwich to offer the much-needed service to our local communities.

The Sanctuary operates 365 days a year between 10am and 11pm and operates a shift pattern to accomodate the hours.
