The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a brand new Facilities and EHS Supervisor within our Toxicology Business Unit located in Abingdon. As a Facilities and EHS Supervisor you will be required to support the other Abbott Toxicology group sites where needed as long as being responsible for ensuring the day to day running of the Facilities and EHS function and ensuring the timely resolution of any general maintenance and repairs at our sites whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant, internal and external, policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Day to day management of the facilities team, ensuring all allocated work is conducted to a high standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring the business is compliant to legal and companywide EHS regulations and policies
  • Responsible for setting the strategic direction of the facilities and EHS function
  • Oversee the management of planned maintenance and EHS programs while ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations is upheld
  • Supporting and conducting reactive maintenance tasks that are allocated
  • Ensure all Facilities and EHS documentation is maintained including risk assessments
  • Managing the investigation and resolution of assigned facilities and EHS related projects, CAPAs and QIs to meet business expectations and priorities with minimum impact on business operations
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities on site
  • Actively manage facilities suppliers to ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Management of the company's risk assessments, accident and incident reporting and investigations
  • Ensure the continued compliance and maintenance of the businesses Environmental, Health and Safety management systems including first aid and fire procedures.
  • Overseeing the businesses Fire Marshals, First Aiders and EHS committee and all aspects that come with managing these groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree qualified or equivalent and/or relevant work experience with a strong background in facilities and/or EHS management preferably in a laboratory environment
  • Experience of managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is desirable
  • Experience in management of projects related to facilities and/or EHS.
  • Be able to deliver to deadlines effectively
  • Communicate effectively and concisely
  • Be personable and approachable
  • Be proactive and organised
  • Have good attention to detail

Flexibility in working hours and happy to travel and stay away overnight if required.
