Abingdon School is a prestigious independent day and boarding institution, accommodating around 1000 students. The School is nestled within 35 acres of picturesque grounds in the heart of Abingdon, just south of Oxford.

Facility Operations Supervisor Role:


Abingdon School Enterprises Ltd (known as Abingdon Sports and Leisure) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable individual to support the management of our sports facilities at Tilsley Park.

Positions are available on both a full-time and part-time basis.

The Facility Operations Supervisor will oversee a small team and ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently at either Tilsley Park or Abingdon Sports Centre, guaranteeing that all policies and procedures are adhered to.

The safety and well-being of all patrons is of utmost importance, and ongoing training will be provided as necessary.

Facility Operations Supervisors work collaboratively as part of a team on a shift basis, which may include evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging with customers
  • Lifeguarding duties (Sport Centre only)
  • Assisting with school activities and external bookings at both venues
  • Providing general administrative support
  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience and relevant qualifications in the sports/leisure sector are preferred
  • We welcome applications from candidates who possess a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or can obtain it within two months of starting (Sport Centre only)
  • Strong customer service and administrative skills, along with a good level of IT proficiency, are essential
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with a positive attitude
