An opportunity has arisen for an experienced research nurse to join the TASC Research Nurse Service. Research nursing as a career option allows you to utilise your nursing knowledge, skills and experience to contribute to the development of new evidence, improving patient care and to the development of new treatment regimens and pathways; with the overall aim of improving outcomes for our patients, now and in the future.
The post-holder will be responsible for the management and delivery of a portfolio of studies in a variety of therapeutic areas, including clinical trials of investigational medicinal products.
Applicants must be educated to degree level or working towards or have the equivalent experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills and ability to perform at the level required for the post.
You will manage a caseload of study participants, providing them with the highest standards of care in adherence to clinical trials regulations, research governance and ICH Good Clinical Practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, also the post holder will demonstrate proven ability to be an effective team member as the post involves providing advice, support and guidance to other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with the Investigators, CRC Managers, Research and Clinical Teams in a variety of settings including hospital inpatient and outpatient settings and Primary Care. The role will involve developing innovative strategies to ensure recruitment on time and to target for studies.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register

Hours of work are: 37 hours per week.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
