Grangemouth, Falkirk, United Kingdom Falkirk Council Full time
Job Description

In Falkirk we are proud and passionate about the work we do.

We are proud to have a workforce with values that promote human rights, social justice and professional integrity. We recognise the importance of diversity within our organisation that reflects the communities we serve.

We are looking for...

This is an exciting time to join the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership and we are now looking to appoint a Short Breaks Bureau Development Worker with a particular focus on supporting current and future policy and development for short breaks for unpaid carers, particularly in relation to the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and the proposed legal right to a break under the draft National Care Service Bill. You will be primarily based at Municipal Chambers Grangemouth within the Carer/ Self Directed Support Team.

Our Team works in a high paced reactive, and responsive environment as part of the Health and Social Care Partnership. This role includes partnership working with a number of teams and organisations at both a local and national level. We focus on early intervention, taking a preventative approach, and focussing on flexible short breaks and respite options for those who are cared for to enable respite for unpaid carers. We a following the national Promoting a Variety' programme approach to short breaks where promoting choice, control and co-production enable people to make informed decisions about their care and enjoy a greater quality of life.

You will join our multi-skilled team, working closely with colleagues from within the health and social care partnership with a key role in supporting unpaid carers, in addition to a wide range of external partners working towards implementing our local Carers Strategy and assisting with reporting to our Senior Leadership Team and Integrated Joint Board.

Working with local communities and a wide range of partners, our services continue to develop to support our ambition to help adults live safe, healthy, and independent lives by offering enhanced preventative, pro-active and responsive community services.

In return, we will offer you on-going professional development opportunities, a supportive environment with regular supervision and access to training. You will also receive the support of a committed senior leadership team, which sees the true value of Social Work where, despite the pressures of budget savings and increased demand for services, we are committed to strengthening the support we provide.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

This is a full-time permanent post.

We are committed to a workforce culture where all our people will feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work. This supports our mission to be recognised as a learning organisation promoting openness, creativity, and experimentation across the workforce.
