About the role

Connex Education Partnership are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in multiple schools within the Mansfield area.

Assignment Details

As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be skilled to work with children with additional needs and challenging behaviours within a mainstream setting.

Duties will include working 1:1 with a child within a classroom setting. This may include learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health difficulties and turbulent backgrounds. There will be opportunity for general classroom support for all pupils in KS1 and KS2, facilitating learning through play and small group interventions for pupils requiring additional help. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in close partnership with the Class Teacher in helping to promote the acquisition of learning goals.

You will be starting promptly in September, with the option of working part time or full time flexible amongst multiple schools within a weekly basis. For the right candidate there are options for the role to extend the rest of academic year for the right candidate.

Having a driving license is desirable but not essential.

Person Specification

  • Experience working in an educational environment with children aged between 4 and 11 years.
  • Be willing to support on a 1:1 basis or work in small groups with children
  • Have behaviour management skills
  • Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc
  • Be organised and reliable
  • Have a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to process a new one
  • Willing to go the extra mile
