About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one tuition to students in the Mansfield area, helping them to develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, tailored tuition sessions to students in a variety of settings, including schools, local venues, and students' homes.
  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities and care home staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Assess and report on student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students who require emotional support and have varying challenges, including behavioral challenges, SEN, and looked after children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with local authorities and care home staff.
  • Teaching qualification with QTS or tutoring/TA experience (Non QTS).
  • Ability to plan, produce, and deliver sessions in Functional Skills English or Maths.
