1:1 Functional Skills Tutor Role Overview

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate tutors to provide individualized support to students requiring assistance with Functional Skills English or Maths. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of learners facing various challenges, including behavioral difficulties, special educational needs (SEN), and those in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to students in diverse locations, such as schools, community centers, or even the student's home environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with local authorities, care home staff, and parents/guardians to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to each student's unique needs and learning styles.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, fostering their confidence and motivation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Possess a teaching qualification with QTS or significant tutoring/teaching assistant experience (Non-QTS).
  • Demonstrate proven experience working with students requiring emotional support and specialized attention.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Be passionate about education and committed to empowering learners to achieve their full potential.
