Description

  • Review a range of client-facing commercial contracts and deliver risk-sensitive advice, proportionate to local regulatory, cultural, and practice needs.
  • Work with partners and other lawyers to help negotiate client terms, including direct negotiation with clients.
  • Coordinate with other teams within the business to deliver timely and practical advice on a range of contractual issues.
  • Support the management and coordination of client audits.
  • Administer an effective global compliance policy to identify and manage client contract risk.
  • Maintain and update the client terms portal.
  • Update the firm's standard terms of business and letters of engagement to manage compliance, legal, and commercial risks globally.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and respond to general risk queries from the business.

Profile

A successful General Counsel should be:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum 2+ years PQE. Applications from candidates outside this range with valuable commercial contracts and/or Risk and Compliance experience are welcome.
  • Solid commercial contract experience.
  • Experience working within a Risk and Compliance function is beneficial but not essential.
