Job Title: Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at Baringa Partners. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal support to our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and negotiate commercial contracts with clients, investors, and subcontractors.
  • Deliver contract risk analysis to senior management and escalate high-risk contract items for approval.
  • Collaborate with the consultancy staff and engagement partner to ensure contract compliance.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers to ensure client contract language aligns with coverage.
  • Work with the PLCS team to provide economic analysis, due diligence, and risk assessment services to energy clients.
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales or a commonwealth country.
  • Good commercial law experience, with a focus on contracts.
  • Confident negotiator with experience handling complex discussions with large international clients.
  • Understanding of international business practices and cultures.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and fit into a small and busy legal function.
